On 20th of November „The Mousetrap” premiere by Agatha Christie
"The Mousetrap" by Agatha Christie opens on 20 of November, directed by Valmiera Drama theatre master Oļģerts Kroders. The stage will be designed by Mārtiņš Vilkārsis, costumes by Ilze Vītoliņa.
The story is about a young couple, Mollie and Giles Ralston, who have started up a new hotel in the converted Monkswell Manor. They are snowed in together with few guests. Detective Sergeant Trotter arrives to inform the group that he believes a murderer is on his way to the hotel, following the death of Mrs Lyon in London.
When one of the guests is killed, they realise that the murderer is already there. The killer could be anyone of the guests, or even the hosts themselves...

Murder mystery play "The Mousetrap" opened in the West End of London in 1952, and has been running continuously since then. It has had the longest initial run of any play in history, with over 23,000 performances so far.
During this phenomenal run there have been almost 400 actors and actresses appearing in the play, 116 miles of shirts have been ironed and over 415 tons of ice cream sold. Actor David Raven is even in the Guinness Book of Records as the Most Durable actor for 4575 performances as Major Metcalf.
The casts includes: Ruta Birgere or Regīna Devīte, Māra Mennika or Inga Siliņa, Krišjānis Salmiņš, Elīna Vāne, Kārlis Neimanis, Agris Māsēns, Imants Strads un Mārtiņš Liepa.
