On 13th of February premiere – „The Cherry Orchard” by Anton Chekhov

     Director of play is grand master of Valmiera Drama Theatre - Oļģerts Kroders and in the main role - Lyubov Andreyevna Ranevskaya - is actress Ieva Puķe.
     „The Cherry Orchard" had premiere at the Moscow Art Theatre 17 January 1904 in a production directed by Constantin Stanislavski. Chekhov intended this play as a comedy.
     The play concerns an aristocratic Russian woman and her family as they return to their estate (which includes a large and well-known cherry orchard) just before it is auctioned to pay the mortgage. While presented with options to save the estate, the family essentially does nothing.
Director of play Oļģerts Kroders says: "Play is about nowadays, about present time in Latvia when politicians just talk and talk and do nothing".
 
Cast: Ieva Puķe, Tālivaldis Lasmanis, Krišjānis Salmiņš, Inga Siliņa, Elīna Vāne, Agris Māsēns vai Aigars Vilims, Kārlis Neimanis, Skaidrīte Putniņa, Oskars Morozovs, Māra Siliņa vai Māra Mennika, Rihards Rudāks, Aigars Apinis, Paulis Nimrods, Ivars Vanags, Terēze Lasmane, Ruta Birgere un Regīna Devīte.
