Oļģerts Kroders

Director born in Riga on August 9, 1921. On June 1944 by accident his family was deported to Siberia. Olgerts Kroders returned to Latvia on 1956 and worked as theatre reviewer. Has worked in Liepaja theatre, Latvian National theatre and in Valmiera theatre for many years.

Because of his persistent efforts, thirst for knowledge, openness and intellectual traditions of his family Olgerts Kroders is one of the most scholarly figures in Latvian theatre. Main theme in his art is fulmination against any kind of violence. Rehearsals in his direction are as free and easy as possible. Actors almost adore him and reviewers evaluate his work highly.
