Māra Ķimele

Born on December 20, 1943. One of the few women in theatre direction in Latvia. Has worked in almost all theatres in Latvia and on several stages abroad. In Valmiera theatre she has worked from 1969 to 1989 and again since 2001. Since 2002 Mara Kimele have been directing performances in The New Riga Theatre. Strong personality, character, creative grasp, feminine point of view and enormous working capacity describe Mara Kimele best. All her efforts she has been giving to Latvian original drama and till now she has staged more then 50 plays and has got several awards.
